| Cain & Abel: Letdown. |

Well.
I have finished Cain & Abel and I have to say, it really took a nosedive in terms of quality. The first ten episodes were very good but as soon as the drama's main plot returned to the hospital/family/revenge storyline, it started sucking BIG TIME. ( The writing is unbelievably bad. )
I don't regret watching it, however, because it did introduce me to So Ji Sub, who is not only extremely good looking, but also a great dramatic actor; and it had one of the best Hero/Other Girl breakups I've seen in kdrama. Not to mention the astonishing amounts of Misery and Pain the first 10 episodes offered. Oh, and Han Ji Min, the super cutie. Such a good OTP.
I am also amending this to add that even though I am being very honest about C&A's flaws I have to admit that I still really enjoyed watching it. It's strange, but sometimes even when you know something is bad (or has gotten bad), you still like it for whatever reason. That's how I feel about C&A.
I think I lost my script in the desert.
***Slightly related extras:
-Clip from SBS 2009 Drama Awards; So Ji Sub says he wants to work with Kim Sun Ah! That would be totally AWESOME, even if I cannot conceive of such a project ever coming to pass as SJS seems to deal exclusively in Misery and Angst and Kim Sun Ah is the queen of Feel-Good, Down-To-Earth Comedy. I also think his contract includes a clause that insists upon his being shot with bullets in whatever role he accepts. But I will still dream about it. (This is actually the clip that made me interested in SJS, and led me to watching C&A in the first place).
- Cha Seung Won & Kim Sun Ah at said SBS Drama Awards. Plus bonus So Ji Sub. ( Pictures of good looking people. )
This reminds me that I have yet to write a real review for City Hall. I will soon. Plus the picspam I promised!

| Cain & Abel: this show is amazing. |

Not only is So Ji Sub immune to bullets and tranquilizers, he is also car-fender resistant. HA! In your face, Evil Brother! He'll never die! Give it up already!
I am bigtime shipping Cho-In/Young-Ji. I also feel really bad for the secondary heroine, who needs to get far, far away from these brothers. Especially Evil Brother - the actor is SO wasted on this role! Talk about two-dimensional.

I think this is my first korean melodrama. My thoughts are basically:
1) So Ji Sub is really freaking hot and 2) I like revenge plots.
I knew it was going to be super dramatic and angsty as soon as I started watching, seeing as the drama opens with So Ji Sub wandering through the chinese desert, bleeding from a bullet wound in his head AND in his abdomen; and then collapsing finally on a sand dune to have an inner monologue about his memories SLIPPING AWAY as he dies!
Moreover, the heroine is a north korean refugee living in china who was hired by some gangsters to lure SJS to them so they could kill him! But she defied them after SJS gave her EMERGENCY APPENDIX SURGERY in the middle of a remote village and saved her life! I think she is going to be really upset when she finds out he has amnesia and can't remember her because she made him promise to meet her in South Korea when she finally gets there with her family. Omo. But PERHAPS she will not be too devastated and learn to appreciate his WANDERING DESERT AMNESIAC look:

I know I do!
(Ps. Han Ji Min is really super cute. She looks a bit like a more attractive Goo Hye Sun, with a little Song Hye Gyo mixed in.)

One of the small luxury items I have a weakness for is soap. Especially triple milled french soap. I found a great deal on some today and I immediately treated myself to two bars - "Currant" and "Citrus" :)
Just look at how pretty they are! I almost don't want to use them because the wrapping is so pretty. There's even a fake jewel attached to them!
